Volunteer

Project Kind is so grateful for the hundreds of people that have donated their time and continue to help around the world, and especially those that volunteer in Northern New Jersey. Read on to learn more about volunteering your time.

Outreach to Those Experiencing Homelessness

Project Kind’s outreach program touches communities in northern New Jersey. Our outreach volunteers meet to help distribute items and food to our friends. As we interact with our friends, opportunities abound to show compassion, to spread kindness and love, or just listen, encourage and pray. Project Kind runs a number of regularly scheduled mobile street outreach events throughout northern NJ and southern NJ.

*A permission slip is required for those under 18 years of age that are not accompanied by their parent or guardian, who intend to volunteer with outreach, fundraisers, or at our kindness closet.

Volunteer Your Time at a Project Kind Logistics Center

Located in Rockaway NJ, our Logistics Center is where we accept donated items such as clothing, blankets, toiletries, packaged foods, and other seasonal items listed above. Volunteers organize inventory, package meals, create kindness notes for bagged lunches, decorate lunch bags, and other activities in support of our street outreach.

Beyond outreach, any items, time, or money donated assist after-school programs in districts that need it most. Further, Project Kind helps communities that are in need.

Volunteer Your Time at Your Home, Church, School, or Organization

Many of our volunteers use their time to collect items, make sandwiches for outreach events, decorate launch bags, and create Kindness notes in their own homes, with their civic groups, or at their places of employment.

Volunteer Your Time with Your Vehicle

Often times people have items and food to donate, but no way of transporting these items. Volunteers can help us by picking up these items and dropping them at our Logistics Center in Rockaway, NJ.

Volunteer to Raise Awareness

In a world that is ever busy and increasingly noisy, we often need help in raising awareness of the problem of homelessness, as well as educating people about how they can partner with Project Kind to help this often overlooked population. Volunteers come alongside us to help spread the word to the people with whom they regularly come in contact.
