Schools And Clubs

It’s not just companies that donate to charity. Although Project Kind serves dozens of communities throughout NJ and the country, we work in tandem with the communities we serve. Youth groups and high school organizations and clubs help collect donations throughout the year. Products like toiletries, Kind notes, and even snacks go a long way for those that need it.

School clubs might ask, “What charity should I donate to?”. Project Kind not only performs homeless outreach, but it helps those in need with rent, electricity payments, and even identification cards.

Project Kind is one of the charities that pick up donations in NJ, so this makes things easier for students and youth to coordinate even if they do not have cars. Setting up a donation box in a school is a passive way to have an active impact.

Lastly, students and youth groups can coordinate fundraisers. As with most monetary donations to Project Kind, the money goes to help someone in need—either with food, housing, or even to avoid eviction.

Highschool Benefit Dinner — One Journey at a Time

Whether schools have a Project Kind donation box, or not, they can host a benefit dinner. Project Kind’s “One Journey at a Time” benefit dinner is fully student-run. They find restaurants or caterers that are willing to donate food—it can be pizza, pasta dinner, or something more elaborate. The students also donate their time by selling tickets to the community, setting up and taking down the event, and even serve guests.

Project Kind coordinates with our friends to find speakers that will talk about their journey from homeless to housed and how that has impacted them on a larger scale. Guests are able to enjoy a meal and a speaker that are fulfilling and impactful. Those that wondered “What is homeless outreach?” will have a better understanding of what it is, what it isn’t, and how it impacts more than just the one person we help.
