Housing the Homeless

Over one million people experiencing homelessness nationwide, and of that, 25 percent are children. A surprisingly high number are Veterans and many cannot get assistance from the government. Sometimes, the assistance they receive is not enough to survive. With rent prices skyrocketing in certain parts of the country, rent and homeownership is an impossibility for them.

What Project Kind Does

Project Kind does many things for those in need. Project Kind is able to bring individuals from experiencing homelessness to giving them hope of housing with a variety of programs and assistance from individual donations and corporate sponsorship. We develop relationships with many of the friends we serve. We learn their story and what makes them human. Unsurprisingly, we all have that in common. Sometimes being on the right medicine, having an identification card, or two months’ rent is all someone needs to make that leap. Those that want to be helped are helped. The goal of Project Kind is to come together, give freely, and share love. Everyone is worthy of love.

Small Gestures Have Large Effects

The statistics are staggering—millions of homes live one bill away from catastrophe. Living paycheck to paycheck does not account for fluctuating bills or even necessary or emergency medical care. Project Kind helps individuals that are at risk of having their electricity turned off and those that are at risk of being evicted. Sometimes it is as easy as paying towards the bill, and other times lawyers advocate for our friends and provide their services pro-bono. Love shared, hope delivered.

Personal Identification

Corporate charity partnerships, like Worthy of Love, let us have events that bring communities together, give our friends access to social workers and access to obtaining an identification card. You cannot do many things without identification—from renting to obtaining a job or getting social assistance.
