Project Kind: A Global Reach on a Local Scale
Since its inception, Jenny DePaul, the visionary behind Project Kind, has been dedicated to aiding the less fortunate. The journey began by distributing peanut butter & jelly sandwiches in Newark, NJ. By incorporating “Notes of Kindness” inside each sandwich bag, she not only provided nourishment but also a tangible reminder of their inherent worthiness of love, resonating long after the sandwiches were savored. Through the generous support of sponsors and global affiliates, Project Kind’s reach has expanded, now encompassing initiatives addressing the urgent requirements of individuals facing homelessness and aiding individuals navigating through challenging circumstances. This unwavering commitment ensures that Project Kind continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
Mission:
Through the establishment of a comprehensive network of support, Project Kind endeavors to foster chances, motivate, and involve the community in accompanying those undergoing hardships as they strive to surmount life’s obstacles.
How can you help?
Project Kind is continuously seeking sponsors, donors, and individuals interested in supporting their community, regardless of the scale of their contribution. Your generous donations have a direct impact on those in need. Whether it’s sponsoring the journey of one of our beneficiaries, organizing a fundraising event within your school, or simply providing supplies to our Kindness Closets, every donation is maximized to its fullest potential. We extend our assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness, enduring financial challenges, and others with immediate and pressing needs.
In 2020, Project Kind introduced its inaugural Kindness Closet in Rockaway, NJ, serving as a hub for those willing to contribute their time, relevant items, or food. The Kindness Closet also serves as a venue for corporate team-building activities and even birthday celebrations. Through sponsorships and additional contributions, our aspiration is to establish more Kindness Closets worldwide. Update🌟 Our community’s kindness shines bright!! Once again we shared someone’s story and so many quickly responded. Six months ago, Tetyana had nowhere to go with her one year old son and nowhere to turn for help. She tried many different agencies and unfortunately the process was so overwhelming, resources were lacking and it basically paralyzed her.
We shared her story and with the help of our community, we were able to get her situated in a hotel for a bit while we worked on connecting her to needed services. YOU helped provide her with needed funds, and Christmas gifts for her and her son and after much advocating on her behalf, we were able to get her approved for housing through the county. But, finding affordable housing is challenging.
And then, once again the community stepped up and help us fill in the gaps making it possible for her to journey out of homelessness.
Tim, a local police officer and realtor helped find her an apartment and waived his realtor fee. YOU all provided the additional needed funds, furniture, linens, housewares, groceries and basically everything she needs to begin her new life with her son.
We cannot thank you enough. This is what it looks like when people come together. So much love!

Tell people how you feel, and do not worry about being too much. Be too much. Care too much. Let people show up for you. Let people remind you that there is goodness in this world. Be vulnerable, do not be afraid of what you feel.

Partners in Kindness, we need your support! An elderly woman in NJ reached out to us. She is currently experiencing homelessness and may have to sleep in her car tonight. She’s used all her resources to stay in a hotel for as long as she could, but now she’s left with no options.
This sweet woman has always been a hard-working member of the community who has fallen on tough times beyond her control. Living with her sister, they shared expenses until her sister passed away and left her unable to afford housing on her own.
We’ve reached out to the County for assistance, but the help hasn’t arrived at this point. We are her last hope. Let’s come together to provide her with a safe place to sleep, while we continue to help her link to needed services. Any contribution towards a hotel stay would be a lifeline for her until more permanent solutions can be found.

Project Kind is seeking volunteers, service providers and donations/sponsorships for the return of our Annual Worthy of Love Event. Hosted by the NY Giants at Met Life Stadium. The annual Project Kind “Worthy of Love” event is back on Friday, June 21st, 2024 at MetLife Stadium. Since 2018, the New York Giants have partnered with Project Kind to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for 120 friends who are experiencing homelessness. Now more then ever the Worthy of Love” event is even more vital, providing an array of services, resources, indulgences, and plenty of kindness to those in need.
Guests will receive a tour of the stadium, apparel, food and drink, along with listening to diverse speakers and meeting New York Giant players and volunteers. Project Kind also coordinates with local businesses to provide complimentary haircuts, shaves, manicures, yoga, chiropractic care, and massage. Most importantly, the event features agencies to help individuals link to needed services.
Project Kind is a non-profit that has served thousands of people experiencing homelessness or otherwise in need, for the last eight years. While outreach started in our local area of Newark, New Jersey, our reach has continued to evolve and expand to help individuals and the communities where they live. By filling in the gaps in the system and building a support network, Project Kind seeks to inspire, create opportunities, and engage the community to share in the journey of those in need. We serve with no judgement, create a culture of inclusion, and believe in the power of love to lead individuals to have a positive impact.

All donations are tax deductible and donations over $500 will be featured with signage at the “Worthy of Love” event.
